FAQ

The questions every firm asks before installing AI.

Honest answers, including the ones where the honest answer is "don't hire us."

We already pay for ChatGPT Teams and Copilot. Isn't that enough?

Licenses are table stakes; workflows are the edge. A license gives your people a blank chat box and the same generic model your competitors have. Vulcan trains systems on your methodologies, voice, and IP, and installs them inside the tools where the work already happens. A login is not adoption.

Why not go to OpenAI's or Anthropic's own consultants?

If your firm is a Fortune 500 enterprise committed to one model ecosystem, you should talk to them. Their teams deploy their own model, at enterprise scale, for enterprise budgets. Vulcan is model-neutral, built by operators from professional services, and sized for firms doing roughly $5M to $200M. Their incentive is more of their model. Ours is what works.

Which AI model do you recommend?

The one your use case demands, which is the point. We build on Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, and we re-evaluate as the frontier moves. Model choice is phase three of our method, after discovery and data curation, because the right answer depends on your workflows, security posture, and the jobs to be done, not on anyone's sales quota.

Who owns what you build?

You do. The curated data, the trained behaviors, the workflows: work product belongs to the client. Your IP enters the engagement protected and leaves it more valuable.

What about our client confidentiality obligations?

We architect for them from day one: private environments, no training leakage, access controls that respect your client walls, and safeguards reviewed with your counsel before anything touches live data.

Will this replace our people?

No, and we would refuse the engagement if that were the goal. Your people and systems are amplified, not replaced. AI does the first pass; humans own decisions and consequences. Conception stays human: experience, insight, taste, wisdom. The firms winning with AI are reinvesting the recovered hours into the work only humans can do.

How fast do we see value?

The discovery sprint ends with a roadmap and one quick win identified. First production systems land inside the first quarter. Early deployments have lifted billable utilization 13% and cut new-business costs 50% within the first two quarters.

How are engagements structured and priced?

Engagements begin with a two-week discovery sprint, reach a first production deployment in 8 to 12 weeks, and continue as an evolution retainer scoped to outcomes. Engagements are built by a senior team of eight AI engineers, data architects, and workflow designers, drawn from the industry we serve. Discovery sprints begin at $25,000. Pricing is tied to measurable results, and value is shown in dashboards you can bring to your partners' meeting.

What data do you need from us?

Less than you'd think, and nothing before safeguards are in place. Phase two of our method is data curation: we structure and secure the material that makes you different, such as past proposals, decks, methodologies, and playbooks. No noise, only signal, and it stays yours.

What happens when the models change?

That's phase five, and the reason we're model-neutral. We tune, optimize, and re-benchmark your systems as the frontier moves, and because your intelligence is codified as your own data and workflows rather than locked to one vendor, switching models is an engineering task, not a rebuild.

Do we need in-house AI engineers to maintain what you build?

No. We install systems inside tools your team already uses, train your people to run them, and stay on through the evolution retainer. If you later build an in-house team, everything we've made is documented and yours to take over.

What kinds of firms do you work with?

Management, innovation, and brand consultancies; advertising, marketing, digital, and PR agencies; media agencies and companies; design firms and studios; in-house teams; and adjacent firms in the larger expertise industry. If your firm's product is expertise, you're who this was built for.
